POE elastomer materials have the characteristics of high toughness, low modulus, and large viscosity fluctuations. In underwater cutting and granulation processes, unstable extrusion pressure can easily cause problems such as uneven particle shape, long and short particles, and bubbles. As the core stabilizing metering equipment of POE underwater cutting and granulation line, the melt pump is a key link to ensure stable granulation quality.

1、 Stabilize extrusion pressure and eliminate POE melt fluctuations

Batch differences and temperature changes in POE raw materials can cause fluctuations in melt viscosity, and it is difficult to maintain a constant pressure solely with the extruder screw. The melt pump relies on the principle of positive displacement forced conveying, independently measures and stabilizes pressure, isolates pressure fluctuations of the extruder, ensures stable pressure of the melt entering the die, avoids uneven cutting length and hollow defects caused by fluctuating pressure, and ensures consistency in the appearance of POE particles.

4、 Optimize process fault tolerance and adapt to POE processing characteristics

POE elastomer has a narrow processing window and is sensitive to process parameters. After installing a melt pump, the extruder can focus on plasticization, and the melt pump is responsible for stabilizing and metering, achieving decoupling of plasticization and metering. The process adjustment is simpler, with a higher tolerance for fine tuning of raw material formulas and temperature fluctuations, making it easier for factories to switch between different grades of POE production.

Stable back pressure reduces the wear of extruder screws and barrels, and minimizes frequent overloading of the main engine; Stable working conditions reduce the frequency of shutdown debugging, improve the continuous operation time of the production line, and enhance overall production efficiency.
