Full-Scene Applications of Low-Viscosity Melt Pumps
The applications of low-viscosity melt pumps have long transcended the limitations of traditional extrusion lines. In polymerization processes, general chemical processes, and the production of various polymer materials, they perform an irreplaceable role in precise material delivery.

In general chemical processes involving the transfer of low-viscosity materials, their value extends far beyond simple material transfer. When handling esters, oligomers, prepolymers, various solutions and colloidal suspensions, chemical intermediates, and even certain corrosive liquids, these pumps ensure that materials are precisely delivered to the next process step under stable temperature, pressure, and flow rate conditions. Particularly in continuous production systems, even minor fluctuations in flow rate can disrupt the final outcomes of downstream reactions, mixing, degassing, pelletizing, or molding. The high-precision metering capabilities of low-viscosity melt pumps effectively mitigate these process risks at the source.

Its adaptability is further highlighted throughout the entire production process of biodegradable materials such as PLA, PBAT, and PGA. The viscosity of materials in different process stages for these materials varies greatly; some processes involve high-viscosity melts, while stages such as esterification and prepolymerization involve low-viscosity prepolymers or intermediates. Temperature, pressure, viscosity, and even vacuum conditions at different points are constantly changing. In such scenarios, there is no need to rigidly select pumps based on “high-viscosity/low-viscosity” labels. Low-viscosity melt pumps can directly accommodate multiple low-viscosity process nodes—such as esterification, prepolymerization, degassing, and pipeline pressurization—ensuring stable material transfer throughout the entire process.

In the production of chemical fibers and polyesters such as PA, PET, and PET, low-viscosity melt pumps serve as core support equipment for continuous production. They are commonly used for discharge pressurization, stable feed pressure prior to spinning, and stable conveyance in downstream processes. In some PA production scenarios, while the material itself may not have high viscosity, melt pumps are still essential—downstream processes such as spinning, pelletizing, and filtration demand far greater stability in the incoming material than the basic requirement of “material supply.” Only by maintaining a consistent inlet flow rate and pressure can the consistency and yield of the final product ultimately be guaranteed.
