High temperature melt pump application, parameters and internal structure
High-temperature melt pumps are mainly used for transporting, pressurizing, and metering high-temperature and high-viscosity polymer melts. It has the characteristics of compact structure, reliable operation, low energy consumption, high volumetric efficiency, and small shearing effect on the melt. High-temperature melt pumps are usually used together with extruders in plastic processing. They can further homogenize the melt, provide stable flow at high temperatures and high pressures, no pulsation in material output, high volumetric efficiency, and small shearing effect on the melt. Thereby improving product quality and product accuracy and reducing costs. It can be used for plastic melt granulation and mixing, and can also be used for extruding sheets, pipes, films and profiles, etc.

Specifications and flow range: Melt pump specifications range from small to large, ranging from 0.05cc to 30,000cc.
Output pressure: usually adjustable within the range of 0 to 40MPa.
Suction pressure: The suction pressure usually varies between vacuum (-0.05~-0.08MPa) and 30MPa.
Operating temperature: The operating temperature of the high-temperature melt pump is limited to no more than 400°C.
Medium viscosity: The high-temperature melt pump can handle the medium viscosity range between 1 and 4000Pa·s (1000 and 4,000,000cP).
Heating method: The high-temperature melt pump can use electric heating or heat medium heating.
Sealing: Common sealing methods are packing seals or spiral seals.
Driving device: High-temperature melt pumps generally consist of a motor, a reducer and a universal coupling at the pump end.
Flow adjustment: The flow rate can be adjusted through frequency conversion speed regulation.
Control system: The high-temperature melt pump can be equipped with intelligent instruments, frequency converters or servo drives, PLC and corresponding software of the pressure closed-loop control system to achieve precise control.
High temperature melt gear pump structure
A complete high-temperature melt gear pump includes a melt pump, motor, reducer, coupling, control and safety device. The high-temperature melt pump mainly consists of a pump casing, driving gear, driven gear, sliding bearing, front and rear It consists of end plates, packing seals, etc. The high-temperature melt pump utilizes melt self-lubrication, and the sliding bearing is provided with lubrication slots. It works under high temperature and high pressure and has good wear resistance. It can work continuously under the conditions of 350℃ and pressure 35Mp or higher.
