It is possible, for example, installing a body section of the spindle or a spindle convert section behind the integrated pump. Varying the depth of penetration of the needles, the specific energy input in the stock may therefore be adapted to the requirements in terms of quality extrusion. This can be done in a flow of material to approximately constant, as the volumetric gear pumps depend on the pressure against only a limited extent.
